Add your name to our community statement calling for a pause on new water-intensive development in Central Texas during Stage 3 drought.
Community Statement
We, the undersigned residents and community members of Hays County, Caldwell County, and the greater Edwards Aquifer region, call on our elected officials and permitting bodies to require an independent, publicly reviewed water impact assessment for any proposed data center or other large water-intensive industrial facility before any permit is approved during Stage 3 or Stage 4 drought conditions.
We support economic development in our region. We ask only that decisions affecting the Edwards Aquifer and San Marcos water supply be made with full transparency and with due consideration for the communities who depend on that water.
This is a community statement of support, not a legal petition. Submitting your name does not create any legal obligation. The Central Texas Data Center Tracker will share aggregated signature counts with elected officials and at public hearings.
